Something you probably already knew: It's basically impossible to project how good QB prospects are going to be.
Yesterday was the deadline for teams to pick up fifth-year options on 2021 first round picks. It was rough for QBs:
- No. 2 pick Zach Wilson: Option declined by Denver
- No. 3 Trey Lance: Option declined by Dallas
- No. 11 Justin Fields: Option declined by Pittsburgh
- No. 15: Mac Jones: Option declined by Jacksonville
So ... four of five QBs drafted three years ago in the first round are on different teams with unclear futures.
