WALNUT, Calif. – The No. 14/13 Texas track and field programs earned nine wins on Friday at the 64th annual Mt. Sac Relays. The Longhorns were led by freshman Akala Garrett and senior Nolton Shelvin who both ran away with two event wins each.
Garrett led the women after sweeping both hurdle events. Her winning-time of 55.93 in the 400-meter hurdles ranks as the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA this season and moved her to No. 8 on the UT All-Time Performer List. She also added her second personal best of the day in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.
