The Huskers began a two weekend road trip in New Jersey, where they took two out of three from Rutgers, and finish it up this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with three games against the 2nd place Wolverines, a series with huge conference and NCAA playoff implications for both.
The winner of the series takes a step up in the Big 10 standings and likely gains what could be a critical move on the ladder of NCAA tournament consideration. Based on RPI, the current top four in the conference - Northwestern, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State have separated themselves from the rest of the group.
