Right-hander Cam Sanders has been demoted to Tennessee from Iowa.
The Cubs Arizona Complex League team in Mesa (aka Rookie Ball) started play this evening. They moved the season up this year as it didn’t used to start until mid-June so as to provide a place for new draftees to play. But now that the draft is in July, MLB decided to move it up a month and end it in mid-August. Other reasons for this is the new 165 player limit and a desire to get some games played in Arizona before it got to 110 degrees outside.
